The day after running 26.2 miles.

So today I'm not as sore as I originally thought I would be. I honestly think I was more sore after running The Malibu Creek 25k. I'm back at work and diligently trying to focus on my projects :)

I really want to run today, but I might, might just go for a slow little jog after work, just to shake some of the kinks out. Obviously, it couldn't be too long or too slow, the bachelorette is on tonight! It's sounds weird that I want to run so bad, but I missed just running when I was training a lot. Though I am obsessive about scheduling and planning, I don't like my running to be scheduled, I like to do it for me.

I can't wait to post pictures from the weekend. I will be posting tomorrow, but here is a little sneaky peeky.

The medal.

So it's not the best picture, but you can see the jist of it. Windsurfer? Really? It is kind of cool that it's a big medal, but seriously, I just want a huge medal that says I ran 26.2 miles, or something along those lines. It would possibly be the best medal ever given out. Sounds like I need to start my own race, whose with me?

Hope everyone else isn't too sore!

xoxo

That medal is an epic fail. The HB Medal from February is better than that.

I can't wait for pictures!!

I would run a race that you started! Sounds like fun! I can't wait to see the pictures! Maybe try some cross training if the running doesn't work out today?

your medal is kinda lame but thats okay! make your 'own medal' on the computer and post it on your blog! :)

You should run the Little Rock Marathon in March. It is the Largest Marathon Medal in the world. It is literally 6-7 inches long and 4-5 inches wide this past year! I will have to post a picture of it sometime. I never did take a close up of it. You can see me wearing it on my page at the bottom right hand corner! It's huge!!!

p.s. Forgot to say I am sad I didn't run CIM last year because it was the 26th year and the medal had a big 26.2 on it. But seriously, I've seen uglier medals!!

Ok, what San Diegan pothead designed that POS? It's sick (and not in a good way), and reminds me of those old school Suncatchers we used to bake in the oven as kids. Epic fail, indeed.

Congrats again, Koobird! So proud of you, and THANK YOU for sharing all the gory details with us :)

Nice medal! I think that's actually a kite surfer, and sorry for being so anal to actually point it out. I windsurfed a lot growing up and want to try kite surfing someday. But first, I too must run a marathon!

Wow, those colors are hideous too! Congratulations again, though! :)

sounds like you need to run the Nike Women's Marathon in San Fran...Tiffany's necklaces to all finishers of the half and full! I ran it back in 2006, and it was fantastic!

congrats :) the medal isn't really bad! I wanted mine to be huge and gaudy and way better than the 13.1 medals, but alas. I had cooler guitars (since it was Nashville, it was country-themed) and it did say 26.2, but it was really small.

This year's 10 year anniversary medal was cool. The only different part was really the color of the ribbon. It was fun in Nashville, though, because EVERYONE who was cool knew that I ran 26.2, while those other people only ran 13.1 :)

Congrats, again! It's a huge accomplishment!!

wow, congrats on finishing your first marathon! You are so inspiring!

And the sad part is someone actually loved this design enough to pick it. Who the HELL thought a WINDSURFER made sense for a RUNNING medal. Weird.

But yay. Still a HUGE deal that you have a marathon medal :)

Well done. I know what you mean about the medal but it's the achievement that counts. You are a marathoner, be proud.

ROFLMAO! Now I'm going to buy you a huge piece of trash medal that says "I JUST RAN 26.2 MILES" with all the rhinestones and faux diamonds galore. HAHA! Actually that one isn't bad! You should see the one I got from The Mohawk Hudson. Blah plain. No color even.

I'm amazed that you ran! I'm sure your legs will thank you for it.

Wow, that medal really is not attractive...

GREAT race report below. Wow - you had an ordeal, but still finished with an AWESOME time. Way to go girl. Hilarious about the medal...sometimes they're pretty bad. Little Rock has the BEST ones. They're HUGE! I'm thinking of running that next.

Great job on a great race!

I just got a chance to read your race report. I can't belive your bathroom issues. Seriously. Your amazing for getting under 4:30 with all that stuff going on. Way to go girl. Very impressive.

I hope your feeling better and your recovering well.

Windsurfer? At least put a runner on it.

the windsufer is totally rad ;)

just wait for it... it being the marathon pain. i bet it might start hitting you this afternoon... and by 9pm tonight be in full effect. I hope i'm wrong... but from my history that's what happens to me!!

i cannot wait for pics!

Man, lot of medal hating folks. I love every medal I have earned and I am sure you love yours too. Great race and welcome to the 26.2 club.

you are quite the inspiration! can't wait to see your photos!

I'd run your race!
While I don't hate the medal, per se, I didn't love it enough to wear it out on Sunday evening as my friend suggested I should do. If it was a bit better looking, I'd probably be wearing it to work today.

I'll participate in your race, for sure :)

My favorite race medal besides Boston, is the Flying Pig Marathon. It's got a front and a back to it. Although, I'm looking forward to getting my Tiffany's necklace in this year's Nike Women's Marathon.
